Getting Acquainted With Wine
Getting acquainted with wine is what this ‘class’ is all about. Your 'teacher' is Savvy Company’s Founder and accredited Sommelier – Debbie Trenholm. She will lead you through a jam packed day learning the FUN-damentals of wine appreciation including:
- wine tasting techniques
- speaking the wine lingo like a pro
- describing characteristics of a wine
- glassware and decanters – do they make a difference?
- serving wine - there is more to it than popping a cork!
- how to sabre a bottle of sparkling wine
- appreciating the different types and styles of wine
- wine purchasing – from good value wines to cellar worthy bottles
- deciphering a restaurant's wine list
And there will be firsthand learning of food and wine pairing techniques with a gourmet lunch at Novotel’s TRIO Restaurant.
